There’s a million variations on spaghetti, but just adding salami will get you a delicious dinner in no time.
You’ll need spaghetti, a bit of salami, 150 g should be enough for two to three, 1 bell pepper (optional), 2 cloves of garlic, Parmesan cheese, a flat tbsp dried chili flakes, some fresh basil to garnish and black pepper.
The quality of the dish is really dependent on the quality of the salami, so get a good one.
Chop the salami into bits and slice the bell pepper into thin slices. While the spaghetti is boiling, fry both salami and bell pepper in olive oil on medium-high heat. Not too much, just enough to give the salami a bit of texture and for the pepper to soften.
When the salami is almost done, add the chili flakes, press the garlic into the pan and stir it.
If you’ve timed it right, the spaghetti is now done, so just drain it and pour the spaghetti into the frying pan. Add a few twists of the pepper mill and toss until everything is equally divided throughout. Garnish with the basil.
Serve with a suitable amount of grated Parmesan and add a light salad. Dinner is done.
