Something slightly different: a fried pork steak with Asian-inspired seasoning between two slices of rye bread. Savoury and spicy.
For two you’ll need two pork steaks, four slices rye bread, fresh coriander, 1 small red onion, 3 tbsps mayonnaise, 4 tsps chili-garlic paste (store-bought), 1 tsp sushi vinegar, 1 tbsp soy sauce, a twist of lime juice, oil to fry in.
Mix the mayonnaise and 3 tbsps of the chili-garlic paste.
Chop the coriander and thinly slice the red onion.
Marinate the red onion in the sushi vinegar 10 to 15 minutes.
Mix the soy sauce, 1 tsp chili-garlic paste and the twist of lime and let the pork steaks marinate in the mixture for 10 to 15 minutes.
Heat some oil in a skillet on medium high and fry the steaks 2-3 minutes on both sides until golden brown and cooked through.
Spread the chili-garlic mayo on a slice of rye, then the steak, and top with the marinated red onion and coriander.
Place the other slice of rye bread on top and serve.
