Champignon mushrooms sautéed with garlic and thyme. A great side dish for steaks or even on it’s own as a dish with other vegetarian dishes.
A good amount for two is 150 g mushrooms, 2 cloves of garlic, 8-10 strands of fresh thyme, olive oil, butter, salt and black pepper.
Slice the mushrooms and chop the strands of thyme.
In a skillet on medium-high, heat 2 tbsps of olive oil and melt 2 tbsps of butter in it.
Sauté the mushrooms until browned. When the mushrooms are just about done, add the garlic to the pan and sauté while stirring. Add a bit of oil if needed. A minute or two should be enough, then remove the pan from the heat.
Add the chopped thyme and stir it into the mushrooms. Heat it with the residual heat from the pan.
Serve with just about any type of steak, beef, pork or chicken, on bread or as a vegetarian side dish.
